The Environment Health and Safety (EHS) department has an opportunity for a specialist to join their Ergonomics team. Primary responsibility is to provide ergonomics support to Facilities & Asset Management teams to achieve significant reduction in ergonomic related injuries. Primary customers are employees performing facility and maintenance environments across the Puget Sound area, plus support to other locations. Supports site ergonomic injury reduction plans and coordinates solution replication across sites and job codes. Job will require local travel to multiple Boeing locations in the Northwest on a frequent basis and occasional split shift support (1st/2nd shift). The ideal candidate will have strong communication and technical skills to partner with customers to identify ergonomic hazards, develop both interim and long term mitigation options, and help implement the agreed to mitigations.
Customer support may include:

• Providing leadership for ergonomics program implementation.
• Performing ergonomic assessments, providing ergonomic training, providing guidance for ergonomic solutions.
• Working with the appropriate support organizations to improve the manufacturing process through implementation of new technology or processes.
• Evaluating new tool design and process for ergonomic risk assessment and more.

A Technical Bachelor's degree is required, and typically 5 or more years' related work experience; OR a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' of related work experience. A technical degree is defined as any four year degree, or greater, in a mathematic, scientific or information technology field of study.


This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


The following is required:

• Experience investigating and mitigating ergonomic risks.
• Experience applying ergonomic principles and best practices to support the development, implementation and maintenance of occupational health and safety programs.
• Experience in Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS).
