EMS Reserve/Relief Pilot (IFR-ROTOR) - Central California

POSITION SUMMARY
The CALSTAR Reserve/Relief Pilot provides customer oriented, high quality air medical transport services in a safe and efficient manner. Flying our new fleet of Eurocopter EC-135s, you're part of a tightly knit, highly experienced, and high-functioning trauma and transport team that delivers unparalleled patient care and safety in a state of the art, flying ICU. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
– Reserve / Relief Pilot for California Float Position (Central Coast Area) but may include base coverage outside of candidate's base domicile.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities of EMS Pilot as outlined in the CALSTAR General Operations Manual
  • Performs all administrative or other duties per CALSTAR policies, procedures, or as assigned by the Lead Pilot.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities of permanent base position.
  • Relief Pilot will be domiciled out of a “home” base and assigned to cover multiple CALSTAR locations
    per scheduling requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Pilot or Flight Training Department Manager.

Job Requirements:
Helicopter qualifications
In order to be considered for the position of CALSTAR EMS Pilot a person must possess the following aviation qualifications and experience.
  • FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate - Rotorcraft-Helicopter
  • Instrument Rating - Helicopter
  • 3,000 hours total helicopter flight time as PIC
  • 1,500 hours turbine helicopter time
  • 150 hours Unaided Night
  • Preferred Experience:
  •    Civilian EMS, Mountain Flying, Night Vision Goggle, and Multi-Engine Helicopter.
  •    FAA Airline Transport Pilot Certificate – Rotorcraft – Helicopter*
  •    100 hours of actual or simulated instrument time in helicopters
  •    *ALL CALSTAR IFR Captains must obtain their Airline Transport Pilot – Helicopter certificate within 12 months of assignment as an IFR Captain.
