REACH crews have flown more than 40,000 patients since 1987. Our highly-trained clinical teams specializes in the rapid assessment, intervention and safe transport of critically ill or injured pediatric patients. CAMTS accredited since 1998, REACH conducts all patient transport services through our dedicated, satellite-based Communications Center at our headquarters in Santa Rosa, CA. REACH is currently seeking a Rotor-Wing Chief Pilot to manage the comprehensive delivery of aviation and maintenance services across the organization. This includes design, development, and implementation of short, intermediate and long-range operational and strategic plans in the context of our vision and mission. This position will be based at our corporate offices in Northern California in Santa Rosa.
The successful candidate will be an experienced aviator with proven leadership and team management skills, a forward thinker with demonstrated ability to manage change, influence and empower others, as well as possess exceptional communication skills.
Candidates must currently meet the following criteria to be considered for this opportunity. Please include a detailed summary of flight hours on your resume.
Qualifications and Skills:
Flight Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience as PIC under Part 135 or Part 121 operations required.
- Must be well versed and highly knowledgeable in FAA Part 135 Regulations pertaining to Operations Specifications, Flight Manual, Training Manual, FSDO approved General Operations Manual, and other instructions pertinent to flight operations.
- 3000 hours total helicopter time required.
- 1500 hours helicopter PIC required.
- 200 hours cumulative and current IFR experience required.
- 500 hours cumulative night experience required.
- Must hold a current valid Commercial/Instrument helicopter rating.
- Must currently meet and able to maintain a duty weight of less than 205 lbs.
- Preference is given to applicants who have previous NVG experience.
- Preference is given to applicants who have an ATP rating.
- Preference is given to applicants who have previous A109, B222, or EC135 experience and/or equivalent single pilot IFR experience in a complex helicopter.
- Previous Chief Pilot or equivalent position held highly desired.
- Previous EMS Air Ambulance experience highly desired.
Requirements
- Bachelor‘s Degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- 5-7 years experience in aviation operations management to include supervisory, budgetary and safety responsibilities.
- Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail.
- Demonstrated skills in oberservation, assessment and creative problem solving.
- Ability to communicate professionally, effectively and persuasively both orally and in writing at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure, work efficiently and accurately with frequent interruptions, and set/re-set multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated proficiency in supervising and motivating subordinates.
- Ability to empower, organize and motivate a team.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
- Strong work ethic and high level of initiative.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
