| Job Desc: |
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of a wide range of aircraft sheet metal repairs.
- Will remove and replace various fasteners, locating and drilling holes in conjunction with the removal and replacement of wing ribs and fittings.
- Works with engineers, planners, and supervisors to develop procedures, and determine materials to be used.
- Interprets complex plans, blue prints, drawings, and specifications.
- Performs fabrication using special jigs and holding fixtures.
- Solves fabrication, assembly, and related problems.
- Applies a thorough knowledge of materials, metal, and honeycomb core to plan and layout work in manufacturing aircraft parts and components that have straight and curved edges, irregular angles, planes and curves.
- Thorough knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance mandatory.
- Must be able to read blueprints, data tables, and other specs to determine feasibility and method to repair or replace malfunctioning or damaged components.
- At a minimum must have five years of recent aircraft sheet metal or similar aerospace experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a favorable security clearance.
- Shift work and 12 hour shifts 7 days a week may be required.
