| Job Desc: |
Perform set up on machine as instructed in set up sheets. Verify tool diameter, set length and cutter radius. Load CNC program. Pick up set point by various methods such as indicator, operate CNC machining center control panel. Use precision measuring equipment to verify part quality and support of company obligations.
- The machinist‘s primary function is, to produce quality parts, per blueprint and in doing so, conforms to all company quality assurance standards.
- The machinists, works along with all floor supervisors and lead men to maintain all production schedules on his/her machine.
- The machinist also works with all or any quality control personnel, concerning his/her particular part or job, he/she may be running on his/her machine to maintain the highest quality assurance possible.
Communication Written: Must have good penmanship for filling out necessary documents needed for production flow EX: S.P.C., time cards, instructions for next shift etc. Oral: Must be able to understand and clearly communicate with all machine shop personnel. Knowledge Requirements: High school diploma or G.E.D. (math highly needed) blueprint reading, understanding machine shop terminology, able to use and understand machinists tools EX: micrometers, calipers, indicators etc.Type and Length of Experience: 3-5 years machine shop experience on various machines producing aircraft parts. CNC machining and knowledge of basic CNC control Physical requirements Must be able to lift and/or push up to 50lb. Able to stand for long periods of time.
