Established Aerospace Company in Seattle is looking for a Director of Engineering with a strong engineering background. Qualified candidates will be able to manage an Engineering Department including manpower, expense, and capital budgets. Will be responsible for the engineering portions of an SFS business plan (be a major contributor for entire business plan) and for engineering processes, policies, and procedures. Will be able to implement completeness and correctness of technical design and analysis. Must be able to create new business proposals. Provide support to the negotiating team relative to proposal efforts. The Director will also be responsible for performance evaluation and the development of the engineering staff and the technical business readiness of engineering through hiring and people development. Must be comfortable working with the Director of Test, Quality, and CI to plan and execute projects that are in the test and certification phase. Qualified candidates will be required to provide overall leadership and administrative management for whole Engineering Section. Develop and execute the Engineering Strategy within Section and identify Synergy opportunities among subsections. Responsible for the establishment of product development roadmap to support the businesses while maximizing product reuse. Will be accountable for delivery of multiple projects on-time, within budget expectations, with best-in-class quality - ensure section meets goals, objectives and expectations by establishing monitoring budget, programs and plans. Function as "communication hub" for business to coordinate and drive project delivery. Ensure project teams are staffed / resourced appropriately and provide strong leadership for multi-disciplinary teams. Establish the goals that meet the needs of the section and implement the proper communication plan. Also serve as the focal point for communication with product line leadership and Quality & Engineering organizations. Establish the strategy and implement change for the team. Accountable for the team metrics and involved in long term planning. Develop and maintain a productive working climate, promoting teamwork and cross-functional efforts to achieve and maintain excellence. Provide leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical direction to Sub-section Managers.
Qualifications:- Bachelor‘s degree from an accredited university or college in engineering
- At least 5 additional years of experience a leadership positions
- At least 3 years of experience in an Operative Manager position
- Work on King Air Beechcraft and LearJet aircraft, aircraft experience is a plus.
