DynCorp is the prime contractor at NAS Patuxent River MD, providing direct support of 114 aircraft and 37 different type models/series. We provide scheduled and unscheduled organizational, intermediate, depot level aircraft maintenance, approved Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) requirements, Aircrew services and logistic support on all designated aircraft and Support Equipment (SE) for Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NAVTESTWINGLANT). Employment Requirements • U.S. citizen • Drug screening Coats surfaces of aircraft, support equipment, and allied components with paint, lacquer, epoxy, resin, or other material, using brushes, rollers, spray guns, and other devices. Removes old paint from aircraft, using liquid paint remover and scraper. Smooth surface with sandpaper and/or steel wool. Roughens aluminum surfaces with acid solution and steel wool to insure that paint adheres to surface. Masks and covers portions of surfaces not to be painted. Paints insignia, letters, or numerals on aircraft surface using stencils. • Knowledge of preparation and painting of aircraft, support equipment, and allied components. • Knowledge of military publications, microfilm, and diagrams is mandatory. • Knowledge of military and/or company forms required by work requirements. • Completion of high school and specialized training courses is desirable. • Employee must have attended a military corrosion/paint school. • Minimum of four (4) years actual and recent experience in the preparation and painting of aircraft, support equipment, and allied component surfaces. • Employee shall be qualified to wear a respirator in accordance with OPNAVINST 5100.23 (series) and have a current paint physical in accordance with applicable BUMED instruction.
