Leading Edge has a career opportunity available for a Chief Inspector of Quality Control. The successful candidate will be responsible for all regulatory, safety and facility oversight phases, of Quality Control/Quality Assurance performed within the Repair Station. Must be properly certificated with a valid A&P Certificate and will have the authority and responsibility to make final decisions on airworthiness matters. Primary contact with the FAA assigned PMI.


Job Responsibilities:


Will ensure that all work performed on the customer aircraft is accomplished in accordance with the Corporate Directive, Assigned Company Work Order, the Air Carriers or Operator‘s Procedures Manual, Manufacturer‘s Technical Manuals, and Current Requirements listed in the Federal Airworthiness Requirements. Must be thoroughly familiar with the contents of the Company‘s RSM and QCM.

  • Ensures that all work performed is in compliance with the RSM, QCM, and the Repair Station Ratings.
  • Ensures that all inspections of airframes, accessories, and appliances that have undergone repair, alteration or overhaul maintain proper documentation and that requirements comply with Company assigned Work Orders and Customers policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that an adequate Training Program, including OJT, is established to assure that Inspection and Maintenance Personnel are trained to the desired standard to permit proper accomplishment of Inspection/Maintenance Functions.
  • Ensure that Standards and Regulations are established by LEAS and that the RSM, QCM and FAA Regulations are enforced. Responsible for all activities of Inspection personnel and designated inspectors, including the receiving inspection of parts and materials received by the company.
  • Determine that no defective, unserviceable, or un-airworthy parts or materials are installed on any aircraft or component, released by the Repair Station.
  • Submits reports of defects or un-airworthy conditions in accordance with FAR 145.221.
  • Ensures the proper execution of all Maintenance/Inspection Release when required.
  • Conducts the Preliminary, Hidden Damage, In-Process, and Final Inspection of all articles processed by the Repair Station and records the results as outlined by the RSM and the customers procedures.
  • Oversees the proper tagging and identification of all parts and components as outlined in the RSM.
  • Provides for continuity of Inspection Responsibility between shifts, ensuring completion of Required Inspection Items when personnel shift or assignment changes occur.
  • Ensures that rejected, unserviceable and scrap parts are handled in such a way as to prevent their reuse as serviceable parts.
  • Ensures that all reports prepared by the Inspection Section are complete and forwarded to their proper destination.
  • Ensures that the Technical Library is maintained in accordance with Chapter 3 of the QCM and customer requirements.
  • Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the company‘s Calibrated Tool System. Ensure that Precision Tools and Test Equipment are properly calibrated, set calibration intervals, and that the Company‘s Calibration Records are kept current.
  • Maintain the Approved Vendors List.
  • Maintain the Customer approved RII and designated inspector rooster as well as the RSM requirements for the supervisory and management rooster.
