Skill Summary: Experience in running turbo shaft engine testing facilities with both indoor and outdoor test stands. Must be familiar with the operations of both facilities and up keep. Must have good working knowledge of test cell maintenance and repair. Must have a good working knowledge of the naval supply system. The job requires good written and oral communication skills. Must be willing to form a good working relationship with the FST, Depot, General Electric Engine Corps, and other test facilities. Tasks that the operator shall be experienced/qualified in and required to perform include, but are not limited to the following:

1)   Must be able to qualify as a Qualified Operator in accordance with the COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 Navy Technical Publications.

2)   Perform full functional testing, evaluation, and troubleshooting on F404-GE-400/402 jet engines in accordance with applicable maintenance instruction manuals (MIMs).

3)   Perform scheduled periodic and preventative maintenance on the test facilities, test stands, and their associated equipment.

4)   Coordinate with intermediate maintenance activities and Depot activities for all scheduled and unscheduled repairs and calibrations.

5)   Conduct informal in service training on engines, engine test cell, and maintenance and troubleshooting procedures for assigned personnel and squadron mechanics.

6)   Maintain accurate records on all engines tested and test cell maintenance.

7)   Be familiar with aviation supply procedures.

8)   Be familiar with all MIMs associated with the testing and troubleshooting of turbo shaft engines.

9)   Be familiar with all related MIMs, orders, and instructions that test facilities must follow.
