| Job Desc: |
JOB DESCRIPTION Design of structural components in support of avionics installations and small mount changes (i.e. air flow, ventilation, etc.).Utilize SolidWorks for solid modeling, to design componentry and create installation drawings.Coordinate with the involved shops to assure that the design criteria are met - Communicate designs, data, and specifications to shop managers/personnel.Revise designs within the design criteria throughout the project without delaying the application of manpower or completion of the project.Resolve problems, delays, etc. in a time frame consistent with the need. Report progress to Manager of Engineering on a daily basis. Report unresolved problems, delays, etc. to Manager of Engineering for resolution in a time frame consistent with the need.Perform product/vendor searches - identify potential products and/or vendors that meet the design criteria and consider functionality, appearance, productivity, availability, and cost. Report findings and recommend course action to Manager of Engineering.Arrange sample product delivery/acquisition for prototype evaluation - When assigned, or when needed for a design project, obtain sample products as available from a vendor.Communicate design progress and issues with management, vendors and/or customers during the course of a project.

| Requirements: |
JOB REQUIREMENTS Knowledge of Aviation FARs and associated practices required.Extensive knowledge of PC systems and SolidWorks – at the very least a demonstrated proficiency in learning different parametric design software.Must have at least 5 years working in general aviation - helicopters preferred but not necessary. No direct military.Experience performing hand calculations for structural analysis in support of certification documentation is a plus, not a necessity.Must be able to work in a diverse and ever changing environment.Ability to manage design projects from start to finish.A strong grasp on mechanical and structural design concepts.A strong grasp on secondary aircraft structures.Have a good attitude and strong work ethic.Self motivated and excited by challenges.Must be honest and have integrity above reproach.Must hold a high standard both personally and within the group.Keep abreast of developments within the aviation industry.
