DynCorp International has a requirement for one (1)WEAPONS SPECIALIST ("I" Level) in support our F-16 Oman Program as shown below. F-16 I Level Weapons Specialist - Oman Job Summary:
The Weapons Specialist performs second line (intermediate level) maintenance on weapons systems. Performs inspection, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of weapons systems and associated support equipment under the command and control of the Officer-in-Charge of the F-16 Engineering Flight. The Weapons Specialist conducts effective OJT to qualify a cadre of assigned RAFO maintenance personnel to assume responsibility for the F-16 maintenance organization as directed by RAFO Headquarters. The Weapons Specialist reports to the APG Superintendent/Site Manager. Principal Accountabilities:
Inspects, repairs, and maintains aircraft release, launch, suspension, and monitor systems; aircraft guns; and related equipment. Operates, inspects, and performs operator maintenance on related munitions handling, loading, and test equipment. Examines for visual defects and proper installation of systems components such as munitions ejector racks, loading and suspension devices, shackles, rocket pods, pylons, aircraft ammunition, boosters, and feed chutes. Boresight and performs after-firing inspection of aircraft guns. Examines aircraft guns for defects. Analyzes malfunctions of munitions launch, release, suspension, and monitor systems, and associated handling and loading equipment. Disassembles, repairs, or replaces mechanical, electrical, electronic, and pneudraulic mechanisms of launch and release systems, and aircraft gun systems. Removes, disassembles, and inspects parts and subassemblies for damage, rust, corrosion, or acceptable clearances and tolerances. Makes adjustments and applies lubricants and preservatives. Performs serviceability tests on aircraft guns, gun systems, and munitions associated suspension equipment. Performs second line (intermediate level) armament systems maintenance functions. Modifies munitions launch, release, suspension, and monitor systems to improve efficiency. Determines probable effect of modifications on future maintenance and operational problems. Plans, organizes, and directs second line (intermediate level) aircraft armament systems maintenance activities. Establishes and evaluates performance and training standards, maintenance controls, and procedures. Checks methods and techniques used to load and unload munitions on aircraft, to repair and maintain aircraft release and gun systems, and to maintain, repair, and modify associated equipment. Ensures compliance with policies, directives, and safety procedures. Analyzes productivity and work quality. Evaluates operational efficiency of aircraft guns and munitions systems, and recommends modification. Performs OJT and supervises the work of assigned RAFO technicians. |
| Requirements: |
Citizen of the United States High school graduate or GED with a certificate of completionAFSC 2W1X1 Aircraft Armament Systems, or equivalent and achieving 7-skill “craftsman” level performing or supervising functions such as performing or supervising functions involving installation, repair, testing, or modification of SMS & weapons systems.Minimum of 15 years experience supporting F-16 aircraft with 5 years experience supporting Block 50 aircraft.Experience performing or supervising functions such as loading and unloading munitions, or maintaining, repairing, and modifying munitions launch, release, suspension, or aircraft gun systems. Must have thorough knowledge of weapons systems principles involving F-16 aircraft.Must be capable of interpreting technical publications including schematics and engineering drawings. Must be able to provide technical assistance to RAFO in regards to O-Level stores management & weapons systems maintenance discipline. Must have in depth knowledge of policies and procedures relating to aircraft safety and training. Must be proficient in communications skills necessary to conduct on the job training.
