| Job Desc: |
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:- Responsible for contract management of all airline ground handling services at selected airport including profit margins.
- Manages multiple airline contracts and ensures superior relationships are maintained with each customer.
- Ensures a safe and healthy environment for customers, employees and equipment. Identifies and corrects any unsafe conditions at the station. Monitors all work areas and job functions to ensure a safe environment exists and safe work habits are used.
- Participates in the screening and selection of employees. Ensures appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Prepares and implements personnel work schedules to meet operational requirements and the agreed upon requested service hours by Delta, Northwest and other airlines.
- Manage operational performance goals including but not limited to on-time performance, mishandled baggage ratio, customer complaints, luggage scanning and aircraft cleaning.
- Determines facility, equipment and staffing requirements.
- Develops, and administers expense and capital budget. Ensures budget is not exceeded and controls are in place to optimize savings.
- Manages cost factors including but not limited to items associated with contract service costs, ground support maintenance costs, facility rent and utilities, operational supplies, administrative costs, office supplies, training and manpower.
- Administers company personnel policies.
- Directs the ground handling of aircraft, including parking, securing, servicing, cleaning, loading/unloading, deicing and providing the flight crew with operational support required by current policy, procedure and contract.
- Directs all ticket counter and gate activities including preparation of tickets and the accountability and security of theses documents and funds collected if applicable.
- Directs the handling of customer irregularities and amenities, including baggage.
- Implement and monitor the inspection, servicing, and maintenance of ground equipment.
- Ensure compliance with hazardous material requirements in keeping with current company, OSHA, EPA and FAA policies.
- Serve as Ground Security Coordinator and ensure that Federal and Company security requirements are in place and followed.
- Evaluates the performance of employees, enforcing standards through appropriate mechanisms, as appropriate, discipline of individuals responsible for events of noncompliance.
- Coordinate and ensure the completion of company training programs as well as develop, implement and monitor local training programs. Maintain training records for each employee and ensure all training requirements are met.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to lift 70 pounds repetitively. Will work in all weather conditions. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed at the airport with exposure to loud noise and exposure to inclement weather. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, exceptional customer service skills, problem solving ability and computer knowledge required. Previous airline supervisory or management experience preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver‘s license. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work extended hours when necessary including nights, weekends and holidays. Will be on call at all times.
