Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. Sikorsky helicopters are used by all five branches of the United States armed forces, along with military services and commercial operators in more than 40 nations. Based in Stratford, Connecticut, USA, Sikorsky has outlying facilities in other Connecticut locations as well as in Florida and Alabama. The Deputy Commercial PM has responsibility to execute specific aircraft sales contracts for both the S-76 and S-92 helicopter product lines. The Deputy Commercial PM acts on behalf of Sikorsky as the single point of contact with commercial customers. The PM acts to implement the build and delivery of aircraft consistent with the customer`s unique configuration requirements. A working knowledge of contracts and flow-down of requirements within a manufacturing organization is expected. The PM is responsible for the coordination of any associated export license issues, trust agreements for foreign customers, registration and title transfer processes with the FAA or other civil agency, coordination of post-delivery obligations, and maintaining a close working relationship with Sales and Customer Support organizations. Additionally, the Deputy Commercial PM is responsible for collection of customer cash payments and must ensure the overall profitability of the aircraft contract is achieved via adherence to established budget constraints. The Deputy Commercial PM participates in the overall S-76 or S-92 platform teams through a leadership role in the Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure consisting of multi-functional personnel from Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Finance, and Customer Service. The IPT`s serve to implement product improvements, expand the capabilities of the aircraft through periodic product block upgrades, and to exploit productivity opportunities using data-driven analysis and corrective action implementations. PM`s apply project management techniques such as earned value, risk assessment, and other means of assuring schedule and cost performance on assigned projects.
Position requires a BS or BA degree in a technical or business administration discipline with 6 to 10 years experience, or 4 to 7+ years of experience for those candidates that have earned a MBA or other graduate level degree. Position requires 6-10 years of project or program management experience including management of matrix organizations and application to aerospace or highly technical products. Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to distill complex business and technical topics for presentation to executive audiences. Requires negotiation skills on both business and technical levels to maintain customer satisfaction as events evolve during the contract execution. Travel including international destinations is a requirement and is not expected to exceed 25% of the time. This position will be located in Coatsville, PA.
