Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation is a world leader in the design and manufacture of advanced helicopters for commercial, industrial and military uses. Sikorsky helicopters are used by all five branches of the United States armed forces, along with military services and commercial operators in more than 40 nations. Based in Stratford, Connecticut, USA, Sikorsky has outlying facilities in other Connecticut locations as well as in Florida and Alabama.
The Avionics Supervisor will be responsible for Aircraft Operation Sheets, Acceptance Test Procedures and design drawings to perform less complex and somewhat repetitive tasks.
The Avionics Supervisor will report to the Avionics Manager and will ensure work is being done in accordance with proper FAA regulations.
Reviews all work statements and releases of incoming aircraft.
Coordinates with Parts Department and Engineering to ensure all parts have been ordered for the aircraft.
Monitor and update aircraft schedules and coordinate with all other departments to ensure work being completed.
Supervise all Avionics personnel on a daily basis. Review all daily time sheets of personnel.
Coordinate with leads for proper personnel assignment., keeping all aircraft on schedule and taking facility workload into account.
Monitor and track all incoming certification paperwork, manuals, etc. for aircraft.
Review all work orders while jobs are in progress monitoring for proper sign offs and supervising and inspecting as required.
Ensure company, and shop policies and procedures are being followed.
Applies and develops basic skills in the execution of existing procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to the position within assigned area.
Promotes advanced tasks as part of training and development.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma. Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post high school training with a minimum of 7 years experience.
Skills Required:
Have a full understanding of electrical or Aviation fundamentals.
Demonstrate the ability to perform routine checkouts of Aircraft systems and make necessary adjustments and/or repairs.
Must have experience of electrical/electronic theory or aviation experience.
Must have leadership skills. Valid FCC and A&P license is preferred.
