JSfirm Member Press: Canadian Skies Has Landed!

New aviation magazine in the mail, digital edition online Sept. 1

KITCHENER, ONTARIO –Staff members at MHM Publishing were thrilled to receive advance copies of the first issue of Canadian Skies on August 31.

At 96 pages plus cover, Canadian Skies stands out from other aviation publications with its unconventional A4 sizing and glossy UV coating. True to its mandate, the first edition features a wide variety of aviation sector coverage, and every story has a Canadian connection.

In this issue we wade into the debate over the F-35—is it the right fighter for Canada? Look for our profile of London Air Services in Vancouver, a flight review of the Cessna CJ4 and an in-depth look at Nav Canada’s air navigation services model. Fly along with Trans Capital Air in some of the world’s most dangerous locales and celebrate 25 years of Bell Helicopter in Mirabel, Quebec. And that’s not all…look for regular features including our airport profile, Faces of Flight column and a custom crossword puzzle.

More than 8,000 copies were mailed on August 30, so watch for yours to arrive in the coming days and weeks. If you can’t wait to see it, a digital version will be posted online today, September 1, at www.skiesmag.com. While you’re there, click on our “Subscribe and Win” contest icon to request your free magazine subscription and we’ll enter your name in a draw to win a Hamilton Khaki pilot watch valued at $1,000.

In addition to the mailing and the digital edition, the premiere issue of Canadian Skies will be showcased at the 2011 National Business Aviation Association Conference and Exhibition, the Canadian Aviation Maintenance Council Conference and Exhibition and the Ontario AME Show, as well as in pilot lounges and FBOs across Canada.

We created Canadian Skies for all of you in the Canadian aviation industry, so please be sure to let us know what you think of the final product. Send feedback and story ideas to support@skiesmag.com. We look forward to hearing from you!
