We have an exciting hybrid work opportunity for a highly motivated Accountant to join and support us at Mikro Systems in Charlottesville, VA.

What You Will Do:

Mikro Systems patented TOMO manufacturing platform allows us to create high performance products with reduced R&D time and improved manufacturing processes. Our partners include global high-technology manufacturing companies and government agencies. We are currently looking for a financial accountant with strong accounting and analytical skills, sound judgment, and excellent organization and communication skills. You will be responsible for the financial accounting aspects of a growing commercial manufacturing and research and development company. If you enjoy working in an exciting, dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented and innovative design environment, possess the desire to participate in the execution of our company’s innovation and commercialization process leveraging product development; like to think outside the box, value hands-on learning, and have the qualifications listed below, this job may be a great fit for you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • All month-end closing activities including sub-ledger account reconciliation, journal entries, billing, and cost allocation.
  • Prepare and analyze month-end financial statements.
  • Track capital spending and administer the fixed assets system.
  • Monitor and reconcile all intercompany activity.
  • Support various department managers in adherence to budgets.
  • Track spending and billing on the various projects Mikro is working on.
  • Support various audits and annual Sarbanes Oxley compliance process.
  • Perform general day-to-day accounting.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and internal corporate policies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance and 5+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance; OR an advanced degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of experience in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools/data that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.

  • Sound judgment grounded in a thorough understanding of accounting principles, ethics, regulations, requirements and best practices.
  • Ability to work well in a team-based environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong accounting, organization, administration and interpersonal skills.
  • Accounting for Government Contracts experience.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite. This means that responsibilities of the job need to be performed onsite on a regular basis.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
