As an Accountant I, you will apply principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports, and oversee accounts such as accruals, expenses, capital expenditures, and income. You will compile and analyze financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and verify accuracy. You will be responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures. Responsibilities:
- Accurately prepare adjusting journal entries
- Analyze account variances to provide a narrative for management review
- Prepare account reconciliations
- Assist in process and system improvements
- Cross-departmental communication in support of transactions
- Provide solutions for further automation of assigned tasks
- Review allocation coding on indirect purchase requests
- Learn company process and continually look for efficiencies and ways to automate
Must Haves:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting
- Typically 0-3 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experience
- Relevant experience (in Accounting) may be considered in lieu of required education
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel data analysis and macros
- Detail oriented with strong analytical abilities
- Strong organizational skills
- Previous exposure to automated accounting systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team
Preferred:
- Working knowledge of GAAP
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or pursuing
- Experience with MS Office products: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
