Position Summary
The Parker Accounting Internship Program is focused on the development of new talent by exposing interns to the dynamic and challenging field of corporate and manufacturing accounting. Interns gain a valuable understanding of real-world projects, tasks, challenges, and opportunities that exist within the industry. This paid internship is used as a springboard into the Accounting Leadership Development Program, by which practical experience gained during a summer internship creates an exceptionally prepared candidate. Students normally work from late May to mid-August and are provided with specific, meaningful, and measurable goals.

The pay rate for this position is $20 per hour.
Responsibilities
Participate in the month end close process, preparing journal entries related to inventory, sales, cost of sales and operating adjustments, reconciliations and month end financial statements
Provide inventory and transactional analysis, including scrap, production variance and inventory valuation variance
Participate in Accounts Receivable collection efforts
Partner with Supply Chain team to analyze purchase price variance and identify cost saving opportunities
Provide support to Finance leadership for reports and analysis in support of Division, Group and Corporate reviews, audits, and ad hoc requirements
Identify cost saving and lean opportunities with Business Units to improve operations
Active participant in the development, implementation and support of Lean in Manufacturing and Finance
Partner with functions through analysis and reporting of their operational and financial performance
Gain understanding of SOX and internal controls and adhere to those processes
Along with other job duties, as required
Qualifications
Ability to work in-office 40 hours per week during Summer 2025
Currently pursuing a Bachelors degree at an accredited 4-year college or university in the United States majoring in accounting, finance or economics
Ability to work effectively on a variety of assignments
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team
