What the position is:
The Corporate Controller supervises all accounting functions. Primary responsibilities include supervision of the monthly close process, financial reporting, accounts payable, coordination of tax and accounts receivable, and working with the company’s outside auditors to ensure financials are in accordance with GAAP.
Essential functions:
• Supervise accounting and accounts payable staff and lead their professional development
• Interface and coordinate regularly with company leadership, Director of Financial Planning & Analysis, Treasury Manager
• Develop a high-trust relationship with department leaders and coordinate on their accounting and finance issues as required
• Assist the finance team with the company’s budget, cash, and P&L forecasts
• Coordinate with stakeholders to ensure preparation of support for the company’s tax filings, and forecast tax estimates
• Compare monthly costs by function and department to the company’s budget and forecast
• Ensure expenses are tracked accurately by the department, location, aircraft type, etc.
• Identify expenses that are reimbursable under the company’s contracts
• Record the company’s key operating statistics (flights, passengers, block hours, etc.)
• Administer Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) accounting system, making a chart of account updates as needed to meet changing business needs
• Develop and maintain reports from the GP system for management related to the balance sheet, P&L, unit costs, and other key metrics
• Ensure accurate inventory reporting
• Preparation of work papers supporting the monthly close process and month-end balances
• Review monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained
• Lead financial statement and assist with 401(k) audits
• Oversee preparation of monthly financial statements and reporting package
• Ensure financial records retained in accordance with law and company policy
• Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
• Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations
• Travel as required, expected to be <20for the accounting department.
General requirements & qualifications:
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business, or similar relevant field
• Five years of relevant experience
• Supervisory experience
• Proficient in MS Excel
Preferred Qualifications:
• Combination of both public audit and company accounting experience
• Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience
• Airline experience
• CPA or CMA
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary Work- Exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequent or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body, sedentary work involves sitting most of the time and walking/standing occasionally with or without accommodation. Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.
Visual Acuity:
Machine operators with inspection- Includes inspection, close assembly, clerical administrative; This is a minimal standard for use with those whose work deals largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, accounting, computer, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, operation of machines using measuring devices, assembly, or fabrication of parts with or without corrective lenses.

Inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
