Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Gov. Cost Accountant to support government accounting and compliance functions within Finance. Working closely with Programs and Commercial teams to ensure compliance with DCAA/DCMA requirements and be the owner of the business Forward Pricing model

Job Responsibilities
  • Key business partner in the monthly and annual financial closing process, providing variance analyses explanation
  • OneStream financial reporting owner for actuals, forecast, budget, and 5 years plan
  • Strong knowledge of DFAR and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) is essential  
  • Responsible for creating and supporting summaries and presentations for executive senior leadership
  • Lead process improvement initiatives, finance reporting automation projects, and standard work documentation
  • Own the business Forward Pricing Model (FPRP), working closely with our rate advisors to manage, update and evolve the model in line with Government compliance. 
  • Work closely with the Finance Team to ensure correct cost capture for allowable/unallowable costs. Review and updating General Ledger to ensure correct booking of costs per our Disclosure Statement. 
  • Ultimate owner of company Disclosure Statement, advising/recommending changes to maintain compliance. 
  • Key business partner for all DCMA/DCAA/Prime Audits.
  • Conduct risk assessment of FAR business system reviews & manage risk profile
  • Updating key system processes to ensure compliance with time keeping and correct allocation and booking of costs to correct cost pools. 
  • Monitor internal policies and procedures to ensure alignment with government regulations – Procurement, pricing & estimating etc. 
  • Participate and lead projects to improve and train key stakeholders within the business for Government Accounting requirements. 
  • Support Programs & Commercial teams in development of financial forecasts ensuring government compliance in proposals. 

      May require travel to our Wallingford CT location--

Job Requirements:
Job Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. 
  • 5 years of industry experience in manufacturing of aircraft and/or aerospace parts, with knowledge in government and/or defense contracts and cost accounting.
  • US Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and SSA requirements.

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • SAP, OneStream, IBM TM1 planning analytics, Qlik database
  • Strong knowledge of DFAR and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Strong team player, and able to complete tasks in a hybrid environment with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills to meet customers’ deadlines, and ability to prioritize tasks 
  • Working knowledge with Forward Pricing Rate Proposal (FPRP)
  • Experience in Aerospace and Defense or related manufacturing industry
  • Experience in DCAA/DCMA or Prime contractor or subcontractor experience. 
  • In depth understanding of overhead rates, how they are calculated and Forward Pricing. 
  • Experience with FAR, DFARS, CAS and government contracting and cost principles. 
  • Working knowledge of Manufacturing ERP systems
  • Strong excel knowledge including formulas (vlookup, index match, sum, ifs etc.)
