Position Summary

Magellan Aerospace, Middletown, Inc. has an exciting opportunity for a reliable and hard-working Senior Staff Accountant. As a key member of our Finance team, the successful individual will be responsible for the coordination and monthly financial close process, as well as analyzing and reporting financial data to Corporate; and will be engaged in forecasting and budget activities.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage the month-end close processes.
  • Preparation of standard monthly journal entries, financial statements and analysis.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting to Corporate Office.
  • Assist Controller in the monthly forecasting and annual budget processes.
  • Assist Controller with IFRS 15 Revenue Reporting and Analysis.
  • Manage monthly balance sheet account reconciliations per Corporate Policies.
  • Prepares reports and statistics reflecting revenues, profits, asset balances, liabilities, and other financial results.
  • Designs / modifies systems by studying and standardizing procedures to provide accurate records of assets, liabilities, and financial transactions of company.
  • Provides reports required by corporate office, management, public accountants, banks, and government agencies.
  • Special Projects as assigned by the Controller.

 

Position Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting; four years of experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. FAS Fixed Asset Software, Great Plains Accounting System, and MRP System experience. SAP, UKG, ADP and Exact Max a plus.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
