Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant supports the Finance Team in maintaining financial integrity and meeting Corporate Reporting Requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Processing and reviewing of the General Ledger
- Perform Balance Sheet and Expense reconciliations and analysis.
- Prepare, verify, and control the entry of journal entries into the General Ledger.
- Generate Monthly Management Reports.
- Provide Ad Hoc Reporting as needed
- Review monthly balance sheet and profit-and-loss statements.
- Participate in the monthly closing and production of financial statements
- Manage Cash Application, including Cash Receipts, Weekly ACH/Wire and Check Payments, and Forecasting
- Perform Daily reconciliation of cash activity
- Assist in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures.
- Prepare state sales and use tax reports.
- Maintain Fixed Assets and Depreciation schedules.
- Prepare weekly payroll, including reconciliation and cash disbursements.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.
Position Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Three to four years’ experience.
- Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures on manual and automated systems.
- Experience in Cost and Manufacturing Accounting
- Understanding International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Strong written and verbal skills
- ADP, Great Plains and SAP experience
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Payroll Processing and Reporting Experience
- Advanced Excel Skills
- Ability to communicate well orally and in writing.
