The Sr. Compliance Accountant serves as the primary point of contact with government auditors and will be responsible for analyzing and reconciling cost data to ensure compliance with company policy and government regulations. Knowledge of CAS, FAR, DFARS along with strong accounting, communication, and analytical skills are required.


Essential Functions:

  • Prepares annual ICE submission for multiple segments, including reconciliations, screening for unallowable costs, and proper allocations in accordance with the company Disclosure Statements
  • Responsible for maintaining indirect rates in Unanet and reviewing monthly rate calculations and forecasts
  • Liaises with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) and Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
  • Primary point of contact for all audits including floorchecks, Incurred Cost, and CAS audits.
  • Assist with policy and procedures and provide guidance and training
  • Captures and classifies cost data to determine the cost associated with products/product lines, projects, or departments. Compares actual costs to historical or projected costs and reports on variance. Provides cost-related data in support of business decisions or for use in financial reporting. May participate in or oversee regular inventory cycle counts.

Qualifications:

  • Performs work with a high degree of latitude.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Advanced skill level utilizing MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Willingness to learn and take on any tasks necessary to support the team
  • Effective oral and written communication/presentation skills; proficient in English
  • Must meet required deadlines from DCAA and various government agencies
  • Good judgment and decision-making skills; maintain discretion/confidentiality
  • Proficiency in fully integrated accounting systems (Unanet, Deltek or Costpoint) a plus

Education / Certifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Strong analytical and ERP skills
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Ability to work individually and with other team members with minimum supervision

Experience:

  • 5+ years hands on experience as a financial analyst/similar position in government accounting environment with DCAA compliance requirements
  • Experience completing the Incurred Cost Proposal (using the DCAA ICE Excel file) and knowledgeable of DCAA, Federal procurement and contract closeout procedures

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequently required to sit, and to reach to use computers and other office equipment
  • Frequently required repetitive movements of wrists, hands, and/or fingers

Security Clearance:

  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.
