About your Job:

In this role, you will be responsible for the Voice application design and development, application architecture, and management of Qatar Airways Voice and enterprise telecommunication infrastructure requirements, such as new services, Disaster Recovery, automation tools, software integrations, enterprise telephone systems, end-user device management, and so on. You will be responsible for developing solutions for the administration and management of Qatar Airways’ Voice solution, including problem detection, resolution, end-user support and life-cycle management of implemented solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and maintain voice/telecom solutions in a high-availability environment.
  • Work with telecom and solution providers for integration of services, testing, and production rollout.
  • Design, develop, and implement automated solutions leveraging existing and future technologies for disaster recovery, backup, configuration management and testing for voice infrastructure solutions.
  • Problem diagnosis, resolution and life-cycle management of the software, hardware, code, version controls and configuration management
  • Ensure individual performance directly contributes to effective IT service delivery, system maintenance and business project delivery, and supports the wider objectives of the business.
  • Provides 24x7 based L2/L3 Technical support, incident handling, request management, attending to customer queries, and problem management.
  • Maintain a highly secure system through proper system configuration and monitoring.
  • Automation of various tasks for better management and availability of the systems. 
  • Ensure to maintain patch level, data backup, Disaster Recovery procedures, and its up-to-date documentation.
  • Perform Capacity Management with continuous monitoring and plan hardware/software upgrades and improvement.
  • Manage the Life Cycle of the system, including timely hardware and software upgrades and replacement.
  • Provide technical consultation and guidance to peers, other technical teams, and the application development/ support team.
  • Maintaining technical documentation including SOP, Administration and configuration documents.
  • Research and develop skills and knowledge in new technologies.
  • Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP/Python modules
  • Solve complex performance problems and architectural challenges
  • Integration of data storage solutions, including databases, key-value stores, blob stores, etc.

About You:

You must have a Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering/Computer Science or an equivalent certification, as well as a minimum of 7 years of IT experience, including at least the last five years in the design, development, and implementation of voice and telecommunication solutions. We are looking for a mature and self-motivated individual with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities who is willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic atmosphere of 24x7 IT support.

Knowledge and skills (Technical):

  • Hands-on experience and knowledge in the development and management of industry-standard enterprise telephone solutions like Cisco, Avaya, and Asterisk.
  • Knowledge and experience in design, development and implementation of multi-level telephone IVR solutions with integration to third-party applications, external web services, and databases.
  • Hands-on knowledge of modular architecture of Asterisk software and hands-on experience in Asterisk programming language.
  • Skilled in the implementation and configuration of PSTN technology such as SIP, TDM (E1/T1), Cloud, and MPLS networks.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience on Session Border and gateways such as Cisco, Dialogic, Sangoma, AudioCodes, Vega etc.)
  • Knowledge and implementation of telephone adjuncts such as enterprise fax, call recording, call reporting, and call logging will be an added advantage.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration, network, high availability using pacemaker and system diagnosis tools such as mttr, traceroute, tcpdump, and Wireshark.
  • Experience in bash scripting and advanced Linux command line interfaces like awk, at, cron and sed.
  • Strong knowledge of frameworks like Django, Laravel, Yii etc.
  • Understanding of MVC design patterns
  • Experience in front-end technologies, such as JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
  • Knowledge of object-oriented PHP and Python programming
  • Understanding accessibility and security compliance, like data and credential storage.
  • Strong knowledge of the common PHP and Python web server exploits and their solutions
  • Hand-on experience in web server technologies like Apache.
  • Understanding fundamental design principles behind a scalable application
  • User authentication and authorization between multiple systems, servers, and environments
  • Integration of multiple data sources and databases into one system
  • Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes
  • Familiarity with SQL/NoSQL databases and their declarative query languages
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git

 

Qualifications/ Trainings:

  • Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Electronics and Communications Engineering/Computer Science or an equivalent certification
  • Certification/Training from enterprise communications providers such as Cisco/Avaya/Sangoma.
  • Certification/Training on end-user voice technologies
  • Certification/ Training on Linux (Redhat).
