Description:Lockheed Martins Corporate Tax Department within the Enterprise Operations business is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented professional to join their team as a Tax Accounting and Compliance Specialist. The successful candidate will primarily support the federal audit, SARBOX reporting requirements, and special projects.

Key Responsibilities
• Assist in preparing and communicating with IRS representatives to respond to information documents requests (IDRs) and other audit-related inquiries.
• Prepare and review documents to support our positions in IRS audits and disputes.
• Conduct in-depth research and analysis on complex tax issues, identifying and evaluating relevant tax laws, regulations, and court decisions to inform audit responses and tax strategies.
• Communicate with tax leadership to provide updates on audit progress and collaborate with the Corporate Tax Department and Business Units to share knowledge, best practices, and expertise in audit support.
• Stay current with changes in tax laws, regulations, and court decisions, and participate in ongoing professional development to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
• Maintain ongoing relationships with taxing authorities, advisors and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
• Assist with accounting for income tax SARBOX reporting requirements, ensuring compliance.
• Participate in special projects as needed, applying tax expertise and analytical skills to support business objectives.
• Ideal candidate should expect to support onsite meetings with IRS and senior Lockheed Martin leadership
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience.
• 4 years of experience with corporate tax compliance and accounting.
• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to perform moderately complex tax research, correctly interpret tax law and stay current with changes in legislation.
• High level of accuracy, attention to details and ability to work with a team and independently with little guidance.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word (features include: VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Multiple Worksheets, Tables, Templates, etc.).
Desired Skills:
• CPA and/or Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years’ experience in public accounting or company tax department.
• Experience with corporate tax planning and U.S. federal income tax audits.
• Familiarity with Alteryx, AI, dashboards and/or digital transformations.
• Proficiency with Thomson Reuters OTP, Oracle and/or CorpTax.
• Familiarity with ASC 740 and SARBOX
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $73,800 - $130,180. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as spanet and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
