Position Summary
The Crew Planning Analyst reviews and analyzes aircraft flow in preparation for crew pairing development and awards monthly schedules using an automated Preferential Bidding System (PBS). The highest level of customer service is essential while coordinating with other departments and communicating with Crewmembers.
Essential Responsibilities
- Plan, develop and administer monthly crew pairings and bid awards using various automated systems in accordance with the Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and Scheduling Manuals
- Administer all Seniority Based paid time off (PTO), Swap and Pick Up windows for Flight and Inflight Operations monthly as well as build Reserve Move-Up/Hybrid Move-Up Lines
- Research and answer inquiries from Crewmembers regarding monthly awards and seniority based window awards
- Work closely with Leadership, Flight and Inflight Values Committees to improve crewmember quality of life
- Coordinate with Flight, Inflight and Training departments for pre-planned absences and training events
- Coordinate, monitor and train new Crew Planners during On the Job Training to ensure progression and proficiencies
- Provide presentations on the Crew Planning processes to the Flight and Inflight Crew during initial, indoctrination, and recurrent training sessions
- Complete other duties as assigned by Crew Services/Crew Planning Leadership
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year of experience in operational planning and/or scheduling
- Prior experience working with a Crew Management System (e.g. Sabre, Jeppesen)
- Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Available for occasional overnight travel (10)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- One (1) year of analytical experience in statistics and spreadsheet development
- Knowledge of Crew Planning/Scheduling Software, such as Crew Trac, and FLiCA
- Previous Leadership experience
- One (1) year of crew scheduling experience
- One (1) year of crew planning experience
- Solid understanding of the Federal Aviation Regulations for commercial air carriers
- Ability to collect, analyze and forecast data for planning, statistical and budgetary proposals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical, organizational and customer services skills
- Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency and attention to detail

- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

Work Environment:
- Traditional office environment with flexible and rotating work schedule to support 24/7 operation
- Work a combination of eight (8) to ten (10) hour shifts with staggered days off

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
