Position Summary

The Analyst Operational Quality assists in data-driven decision making around quality and compliance with the JetBlue Quality Management System (QMS) as well as company-wide policies and standards. The QMS team partners with operational counterparts to analyze relevant data to measure, monitor, improve, and control the effectiveness of processes, assess for best practices, and collaborate with leadership to increase operational quality.

 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Analyze and summarize quantitative and qualitative data to discover, validate, and optimize drivers of JetBlue’s performance across operational teams, using descriptive and inferential statistics including, but not limited to, t-test, Analysis of Variance (ANOVA), chi-square, correlation, regression, and multivariate analysis.
  • Utilize data collection and analysis tools to support the production of projects, reports, dashboards, and other team needs.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of JetBlue’s operation including business needs, initiatives, and goals.
  • Advanced skills in analyzing and interpreting data, generating insights, and preparing readouts for executive leaders.
  • Collaborate with other JetBlue data teams and Business Partners to ensure the required data is accessible, fully understood, valid, and reliable.
  • Assist operating areas with continuous improvement efforts through the application of Quality Management metrics.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Business, Industrial Engineering, Industrial/Organizational Psychology or related field; OR a demonstrated capability to perform job responsibilities with a High School Diploma/GED and four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • One (1) year of analytical experience with proven ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and order data
  • Proficient with descriptive and inferential statistics
  • Strong capabilities with database querying (e.g., Structured Query Language [SQL]) and/or high-level programming languages (such as Python, R, or Visual Basic)
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques and tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, and/or Spotfire
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy
  • Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment
  • Available for occasional field work and overnight travel (10%)
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test
  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
  • Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship

 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of applied experience with metrics, databases, operational measurement methodologies
  • One (1) year of experience in aviation or a related operational field
  • Proven experience with applying research methods and related tools to a fast-paced business environment
  • Understanding of quality management principles
  • Experience with data visualization tools

  • Regular attendance and punctuality
  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
  • Able to maintain a professional appearance
  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion, and Fun
  • Must fulfill safety accountabilities as prescribed by JetBlue’s Safety Management System

  • Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))
  • Responsible for adhering to all applicable laws, regulations (FAA, OSHA, DOT, etc.) and Company policies, procedures and risk controls
  • Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities

Compensation:

  • The base pay range for this position is between $50,000.00 and $89,600.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which includes healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
