The Billing Specialist will create invoices with supporting documents including researching and reconciling costs for fixed price and reimbursable billings, scanning and coping, and communicating with the Customer upon submission of invoices. The Specialist will also create timely and accurate Book Cost to Billed Cost reconciliations for each contract. Additionally, the Billing Specialist works closely with Business Management and Contracts to perform the following duties:

Job Description:

  • Coordinate with personnel from various departments to ensure complete and accurate documentation for billing and subsequent collection.
  • Monitor and research costs, and request journal entries to ensure costs are accumulated against work orders/WBSs correctly.
  • Obtain Statements of Completion of Work (SOCOWs), when required, and apply them to monthly billings.
  • Communicate with Customer(s) and personnel from various sites to gain and process accurate billing information.
  • Cooperate and assist during audits, when necessary.
  • Ensure all tasks are performed according to company policy.
  • Exhibit positive, courteous, and professional behavior with customers, businesses, and co-workers.
  • Assist co-workers and those in other departments to successfully perform job tasks and functions when necessary.
  • Follow all safety policies and practices as established by the company and/or regulatory bodies

Job Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:

H/S Diploma or equivalent AND 2 years of related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other related field.

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Some travel will be required.
