The Business Systems Analyst II (BSA) is responsible for overseeing the technical execution of one to many projects and tasks in varying IT areas such as application development, application support, systems administration, business intelligence, network administration and others. In addition to coordination and oversight of technical tasks during the execution phase of the project, the Business Systems Analyst II (BSA) will be responsible for gathering and documenting customer requirements by interviewing and understanding customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of IT practices and terminology in order to be knowledgeable enough to know when to raise questions in order to correctly drive the project execution tasks to completion. The candidate will need to be bright, imaginative, and a capable technologist with strong communication skills, specifically seeking an environment where they will impact the direction of the organization, and be a key contributor to overall success of the business. Responsibilities:
- Perform more complex analysis and design of business processes and systems, often with a focus on technology implementation and integration
- Coordinate and oversee technical tasks during the execution phase of the project
- Gather and document customer requirements by interviewing and understanding customer needs
- Identify gaps and provide technical expertise in business requirements for system functional specifications
- Scale new and current systems, processes and procedures in a cost-effective manner
- Configure system settings and options; plans and executes unit, integration and acceptance testing to meet business requirements; designs details of automated systems
- Navigate an exceptionally fast and dynamic environment where changes are certain and frequent, resulting in many new projects which require agility and flexibility
Must-haves:
- Bachelors Degree in a related field with at least 2 or more years of relevant experience
- Higher education may substitute for relevant experiencr
- Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of required education
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and processes
- Understanding of Order to Cash process flows
- Business knowledge to work directly with clients to solve their business-related problems
- Strong understanding of IT practices and terminology
- Innovative and capable technologist with strong communication skills
- Ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address process improvements
- Basic experience with writing SQL and understanding the basics of table querying for use in documenting data requirements
Preferred:
- Ability to analyze business systems and/or business processes to identify user needs, document requirements, and address process improvements
- Ability to obtain a Scrum Master certification
- Strong knowledge of requirements documentation tools such as Visio, Word, Excel, Jira, and/or Azure DevOps
- Experience with data mapping and documentation of system integration metadata and touchpoints necessary for implementation
- Basic experience with writing SQL and understanding the basics of table querying for use in documenting data requirements
- Strong knowledge of project planning and execution, using tools such as MS Project
- Understanding of analysis and software development lifecycle methodologies
- Strong presentation, facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and influencing skills
