Responsibilities

The Catering Operations Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and quality of all onboard catering products and services. Working closely with third-party vendors, F/As, airport personnel, and internal teams, this Specialist plays a key role in supporting a region within an operation that spans 18 catering locations. The Catering Specialist will manage inventory, track flights, coordinate shipments, and ensure compliance with service standards following our Guest Experience Manual, while also focusing on key metrics to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.

  • Monitor and maintain the catering schedule, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries while meeting service standards.
  • Build and manage relationships with caterers and third-party vendors to ensure smooth operational support and service delivery.
  • Oversee the management and timely delivery of ice and essential tarmac supplies for airport operations.
  • Review crew reports and promptly address any issues regarding catering services.
  • Monitor flight reroutes, delays, and tail swaps to ensure catering services are properly adjusted and provided.
  • Maintain inventory control of catering equipment and supplies, ensuring proper stock levels are in place across all stations.
  • Conduct catering audits to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Manage and distribute all promotional materials, catering supplies, and tarmac orders to support Crew Bases, Spirit Stations, and RONs.
  • Maintain reports and dashboards to monitor operational performance and key metrics, helping drive data-driven decisions.
  • Schedule and manage onboard catering events, In-flight menu rollouts, kitchen visits, and flight audits.
  • Ensure timely shipment of FA EFB devices between LSG and crew bases.
  • Process weekly product orders for third-party vendors, ensuring timely payments.
  • Assist in preparing monthly catering schedules for dissemination to Flight Attendants, Crew Bases, Stations, and Security Companies.
  • Support Inflight Training by assisting with updating content and material related to onboard services.
  • Assist Inflight Leadership and teams with various tasks as needed.
  • May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities and duties may change when circumstances dictate (e.g., emergencies change in workload, rush jobs or technical developments).

Qualifications

  • Build relationships, inspire others, think critically, communicate clearly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication/presentations skills.
  • Results oriented with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with office management procedures and basic accounting principles.
  • Team player with ability to interface with all levels of staff. Strong guest service mindset.
  • Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize incoming workload on a daily basis.
  • Able to adapt to various work schedules and times. Must be able to adjust thought processes to coincide with the growth and development of the industry, as well as the company.
  • Domestic & International travel approximately 50 of time.
  • Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.

Education

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Experience

  • 1-3 years experience in Catering Operations

Additional Certifications/Skills

  • Flight Attendant Qualification Preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
