Location: 4010 S 148th Street, Omaha, NE. Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts (Night Shift Starts at 5 PM) Hourly Rate: $21-$22/hr

As a Communications Specialist you’ll serve as the vital link between emergency responders, flight crews, and medical facilities. You will handle critical flight coordination, dispatching, and real-time communication between healthcare providers and transport teams—ensuring patients receive timely care when every second matters.
What You’ll Do
• Coordinate Emergency Flights – Handle all incoming requests for medical air transport, ensuring seamless communication between hospitals, emergency responders, and flight crews.
• Monitor and Track Flights – Provide real-time flight following, from takeoff to landing, in accordance with FAA and company safety regulations.
• Manage Emergency Communications – Serve as the first point of contact for medical professionals, dispatching emergency transport with speed and accuracy.
• Support Flight Crews – Relay critical patient and transport information to pilots and medical teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Ensure Compliance – Adhere to Air Methods policies, AirCom procedures, and FAA regulations to maintain the highest standards of safety and accuracy.
• Train and Collaborate – Assist in onboarding and training new team members while fostering strong communication between flight crews and external agencies.
What You Bring to the Team
✔ Education & Experience:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of dispatch experience or experience with medical terminology (EMT, CNA, or similar healthcare background preferred).
• Prior experience in emergency communication, dispatching, or high-pressure call environments is a plus.
✔ Skills & Abilities:
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to work efficiently in high-stress situations.
• Advanced customer service and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to relay critical information accurately and quickly.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a high degree of collaboration and teamwork.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while making quick, informed decisions.
✔ Tech-Savvy:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Comfortable using dispatching software and communication tools.
✔ Preferred Certifications (Not Required but a Plus!):
• NAACS (National Association of Air Communication Specialists) Certification
• EMT-B, EMT-A, EMT-P, CNA, LMT, or Pilot Certificate
