Fleet Ballistic Missiles (FBM) is one of Lockheed Martin’s outstanding Lines of Businesses that prioritizes partnership, integrity, and reliability. The Life Extension 2 (LE2) team is an organization within the greater FBM program which supports the development of the Next Generation System by developing concepts, researching, and maturing technologies to support the development of the next FBM Missile System.

As a member of the Loads & Dynamics central functional organization supporting the Fleet Ballistic Missile Common Missile Compartment Program you will perform structural dynamic analyses for missile flight hardware. You will coordinate the Loads & Dynamics team’s work in addition to completing your individual tasking. You will be responsible for answering technical questions from and presenting to the Navy customer.
Responsibilities may include:
• Perform structural dynamic analyses for missile flight hardware
• Generating analysis technical memorandums and reports to support data packages, peer reviews, and external customer reviews
• Supporting environmental loads and test definitions, requirements development, monitoring, data reduction, and comparison to analysis efforts.
• Experience and/or knowledge of Finite Element Modeling

Basic Qualifications:
• Demonstrated ability of systems thinking
• Experience should encompass basic statics and mechanics of materials, or strength of materials and basic dynamics
• Working knowledge of finite element analysis principles as well as rigid and flexible body lumped-parameters
• Experience with MATLAB
• Experience with Finite Element Modeling techniques via a tool such as NX, NASTRAN, or Ls Dyna
• Ability to obtain a TS clearance. US Citizenship required.
Desired Skills:
• A Masters degree is strongly preferred for this position
• Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
• Willing to learn and apply new/advanced analytical techniques necessary to perform dynamic analysis.
•Experience with finite element modeling with NX/Nastran, ABAQUS or ADAMS or equivalent
• Experience with dynamics of structures, mechanisms and materials
• Aerospace flight hardware test and instrumentation experience such as vibration, acoustic, modal or shock test experience
• Active TS security clearance

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $67,400 - $129,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.
(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:

Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
