Emergency Response Specialist
Job Description:

We are easyJet – a FTSE-100 listed, £multi-billion low-cost airline that serves tens of millions of customers every single year. If you’re reading this, you have probably already been an easyJet customer, and you’ll know that there is no more iconic (or Orange!) travel brand in Europe.

We fly more than 1,000 routes, connecting 35 countries across Europe, and employ more than 18,000 colleagues. We’re on a mission to make low-cost travel easy – and whatever your role here, you’ll connect millions of people to what they love using Europe’s best airline network, great value fares, and friendly service.

It takes a real team effort to run an operation as big and logistically complex as ours – and regardless of where you join us, no one day will ever be the same. One thing that does stay the same though is our people. They are energised, positive, inclusive, united by purpose, ready to meet problems head-on, and they have your back. We’re here to win together. We call that our ‘Orange Spirit’. It’s what makes our teams fun to be a part of and what brings us together.

The Team

The Business Resilience Team plays a key role in enhancing easyJet’s ability to respond to and recover from major incidents. We are responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving our Incident and Crisis framework, Business Continuity and Emergency Response plans. Our integrated approach spans the entire easyJet group, working closely with Group Operations Services (GOS) and our certificated organisations in the UK, Austria, and Switzerland.

Job Purpose

As an Emergency Response Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring easyJet is fully prepared to respond to crisis events that could impact our people, customers, and operations. You will play an important role in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of easyJet’s crisis management, business continuity, and emergency response frameworks.

This role will work closely with teams across easyJet, as well as external stakeholders, to ensure the business has the right plans, tools and training to effectively manage major incidents.

What You’ll Be Doing

·       Develop and maintain crisis management and emergency response plans across easyJet’s operations, ensuring they align with industry best practices.

·       Work with senior stakeholders across the business, advocating best emergency response practice across the easyJet Group, including easyJet Holidays and our international certificated organisations.

·       Ensure easyJet’s crisis management facilities are in a state of readiness at all times and support their activation when needed.

·       Design and deliver crisis training exercises for the Crisis Management Team and Emergency Response teams, ensuring continuous improvement in preparedness.

·       Support post-aircraft accident humanitarian response planning and coordinate with external agencies to ensure an effective response.

·       Monitor emerging risks and analyse potential disruption scenarios, proactively escalating issues when necessary.

·       Act as a key point of contact for emergency response, supporting the Crisis Management Team during any major incident or disruption event.

·       Lead post incident reviews to identify lessons learned and implement improvements to easyJet’s response frameworks.

·       Represent the Business Resilience team on call, ensuring a rapid and effective response to crises when required.
