JOB PURPOSE
To develop coursework and conduct aircraft maintenance training within the specialty of the instructor, orientation, ground service equipment and IPM training for the Maintenance Training Program.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Demands: Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires occasional bending, climbing, stooping or squatting. Requires lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling weight up to 30 pounds. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. May require working extended hours, various shifts and scheduled day(s) off.
Equipment Operated: Telephone, personal computer, general office machines.
Work Location: Training building, aircraft maintenance hangar, maintenance office, flightline and periodically off site.
Potential Hazards: Exposure to high intensity noise levels, extreme changes in temperature, materials identified on Safety Data Sheets, and working around moving machinery.
Protective Equipment Required: Ear, Eye and other PPE when teaching in the work area.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
· Coordinates with Maintenance Department management to determine specific needs for formal classroom training of all personnel.
· Establishes, maintains, and keeps current formal classroom course outlines and student workbooks for all courses taught within Instructor’s specialty.
· Develops, reviews and updates training aids and manuals.
· Reviews templates for course handouts, lesson plans, outlines, descriptions, objectives and schedules.
· Utilizes a variety of standard methods to provide support for configuration research and training manual development.
· Prepares, designs and develops presentation graphics.
· Develops and provides customized training curriculums for internal and external customers.
· Must be familiar with Ascent Aviation’s Inspection Procedures Manual to provide instruction to Ascent Aviation personnel.
· Provides individual tutoring and/or on-the-job training as required.
Marginal Job Functions:
· Communicates on the telephone.
· Coordinates with other departments as necessary.
· Travel to attend and/or conduct training sessions.
· Ensure that all work performed is done in a safe manner. Directs activities to protect employees from harm and maintain safe working conditions.
SMS REQUIREMENTS
· Will participate in and support safety initiatives, safe work practices and SMS compliance.
· Will participate in safety activities including the following: immediately reporting hazards, unsafe work practices and accidents/injuries.
· Will follow all safety rules, FAA regulations, PPE compliance and equipment operation requirements.
