Position Summary
MAG Aerospace is currently bidding on a Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic (NIWC Atlantic) contract and hiring for a Facility Security Specialist II.
This position supports Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) systems engineering, enterprise cybersecurity implementations and operations, advanced technology, and project management services.
This is a full-time position with full benefits.
Place of performance for this position is at one of these Government Sites: Washington DC Navy Yard, Charleston SC, San Diego CA, Norfolk VA or Jacksonville FL.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Implement organization security policies and procedures.
- Provide security risk management guidance pertaining to the protection of advanced technology.
- Access eligibility determinations in accordance with Navy SAP Nomination Process.
- Review documentation required for classified information systems in accordance with the current regulations.
- Conduct site surveys and physical security accreditations, interpret current security policies.
- Develop, implement, and manage organizational security policies and procedures for USG programs
- Maintain security requirements and controls for facilities and systems where National Security Information (NSI) is processed, stored, or transmitted
- Review program material for proper classification and control, inventory and secure the material in accordance with protocols for the programs and to ensure regulatory compliance regarding the safeguarding and document control of classified documents
- Manage security operations for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) activities
- Process employee security clearance and access requests with USG customers and assist employees in applying for and obtaining government badges/credentials/accounts
- Conduct Self Inspections per the 32 CFR/NISPOM
- Conduct initial/refresher security briefings as well as other security education, training, and awareness outreach
- Conduct regular in-person Foreign Travel briefings and debriefings
- Submit visit requests for cleared employees to attend classified meetings
- Process initial, crossover, and PR clearance requests using DISS/NBIS and e-APP
- Maintain accurate clearance data and personnel documentation
- Assist in maintaining SCIF/SAPF accreditations to appropriate Cognizant Security Agency (CSA)
- Ensure compliance with SCIF visitor control functions, entry/exit inspections and badging
- Assist in conducting SCIF self-inspections in preparation for security audits
- Conduct Quarterly Insider Threat Meeting
- Assist with facility Site Assist Visits (SAV’s) and compliance inspections as requested.
- Conduct security inquires and document preliminary inquiry reports, findings, and recommendations to help reduce or eradicate similar instances
- Evaluate preliminary inquiry reports from field activities and provide independent recommendations to the PSO
- Administer a Security Education Training and Awareness (SETA) program that includes, but is not limited to, indoctrinations, briefings, foreign travel, couriers, event-driven briefings, and de-briefings
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- 3 years’ experience concerning security classification methods, concepts, eligibility for access to classified or sensitive information and the process for granting personnel security clearances/accesses, and knowledge of commonly applied security principles, concepts, and methodologies in carrying out information, personnel, and physical security programs related to the protection of SCI.
- 3 years performing such duties as conducting inspections and investigations, collecting and analyzing information, etc., and skill in weighing the impact of variables such as critical personnel qualifications, variations in building construction characteristics, access and entry restrictions, equipment availability, and other issues that influence the course of actions taken in resolving security questions and issues.
- 3 years performing physical, industrial, information and personnel security participating in SAP Security Compliance Inspections and Self-Inspections; reporting, documenting and investigating security incidents; reviewing and applying governing policy including Executive Orders, DoD Security Directives.
- Experience executing Program Access Requests (PAR) within the JADE system.
- Experience with various security tools (e.g., NISS, SWFT, DISS/NBIS, ACCS).
- Experience Maintaining a Special Access Program Facilities.
- Experience with preparing and issues DD-254 per the contractual requirement.
- COMSEC Experience.
- Highly knowledgeable of USG personnel security policies, processes, and procedures; including but not limited to knowledge of NISPOM, ICD, JSIG, DoDM 5200.01 & 5205.07 series, and the aspects specific to the execution of the Industrial Security Program.
- Knowledge of SCIF/SAPF accreditation policies, processes, and procedures.

The projected compensation range for this position is $70000 to $130000 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of MAGs total compensation package for employees.
