The Information Services Analyst will report to the Head, Information Services. The selected candidate will gather, interpret, and present data from various data streams across the business. He/she will be knowledgeable on multiple platforms to produce relevant reports and dashboards as requested. The incumbent performs reconciliation, development and daily maintenance of the database warehouse.
KEY DELIVERABLES:
1. ETL Development & Data Pipeline Maintenance
The Analyst will design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL pipelines using Python and SQL, ensuring efficient data ingestion, transformation, and loading. They will monitor pipeline performance, implement automated error handling, and enforce data quality checks to maintain accuracy and reliability.
2. Data Warehouse Management & Governance
Responsible for maintaining the data dictionary, repository, and governance policies, the Analyst will ensure data integrity and accessibility across reporting solutions. They will also perform data modeling and schema design, aligning database structures with business and analytical needs.
3. Business Intelligence & Reporting
The Analyst will develop SSRS reports and Power BI dashboards, translating stakeholder requirements into actionable Business Intelligence solutions. They will optimize reports for performance and maintain self-service BI capabilities while ensuring compliance with data governance policies.
4. Advanced Analytics & Predictive Insights
Supporting analytics and predictive modeling efforts, the Analyst will develop automated data extraction, transformation, and visualization solutions. They will collaborate with teams to implement machine learning models and statistical analyses that enhance business decision-making.
5. Cross Departmental Support & Project Collaboration
The Analyst will support new projects by integrating data sources, enhancing reporting capabilities, and training end-users on analytics tools. They will also document and improve ETL processes, ensuring data-driven decision-making across departments.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer and Electrical Engineering (Computer Systems major), or a related field is required, along with at least three (3) years of experience in a similar role. The candidate must have expertise in data management, business intelligence, and ETL development, with strong proficiency in Python, SQL, PL/SQL, and reporting tools like Power BI, SSRS, or Tableau.
Technical Skills & Competencies
The candidate must have hands-on experience in ETL development, data pipeline maintenance, and data modeling, ensuring efficient data ingestion and transformation. A deep understanding of transactional systems, Data Warehouses, Data Marts, and MDM methodologies is required, along with skills in data governance, performance optimization, and automation for analytics and reporting.
