Job Summary:

We are seeking a Marketing Communications Specialist to join our Crane Aerospace & Electronics team. In this role, you will play an important part in telling the story of Crane A&E through brand spaneting & communication campaign and strategy. Your work will act as a support function in a range of Marcom disciplines, including graphic design support, content generation, website maintenance, video production/editing and more. Working collaboratively with Crane A&E’s Marcom team and across other departments, you will contribute to Crane A&E’s strategic spaneting & communications plans by utilizing paid and organic spaneting channels to drive customer engagement and enhance Crane A&E’s visibility as a leading aerospace & defense supplier.

Essential Functions:

  • Contribute to comprehensive spaneting & communications strategy to increase awareness of Crane A&E’s aerospace & defense capabilities.

  • Partner with graphic design to generate graphics packages for use in digital spaneting, tradeshows and various internal communication campaigns.

  •  Help maintain and strengthen Crane A&E website through design, structure and navigational improvements for best customer experience, while implementing strong SEO practices.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional, cross-site teams to identify unique Crane A&E stories and develop internal and external-facing content.

  • Participate in planning messaging opportunities for internal and external audiences, including program and customer wins, new innovations, key hires and company positioning.

  • Perform photography and videography responsibilities including capturing events, activities, and other needs as required.

  • Video editing support as needed.

  • Utilizing Crane A&E’s brand guidelines, ensure brand consistency across all content and communications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience: 5 years of experience in Marketing & Communciations

  • Knowledge: Proficient in English journalism, including meticulous attention to grammar, spelling and punctuation; Ability to present information clearly in written form; Understanding of strategic spaneting & communications planning principles. Knowledge of video production, design and editing processes and programs. Prior experience working in Content Management System preferred. Experience with graphic design.

  • Skills/Abilities: Must have prior experience with PC’s and PC based software, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and with design programs such as Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro (or equivalent design software); Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Extremely organized and able to easily multi-task large volumes of projects at once; Able to wear multiple hats, be flexible, motivated and willingness to work on a variety of projects; Deadline driven.

  • Education/Certification: BA or BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field.

  • Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of best storytelling practices with innovative approach to content development - ability to create original and engaging content based off highly technical products and information.

  • Proven visual communications skills with strong conceptual, design and layout competency (Adobe Creative Suite proficiency).

  • Knowledge of web design and experience in HTML and HTML editing tools.

  • Basic photography and videography knowledge and skills.

  • Experience with various Intranet platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint.

  • Some familiarity with web publishing content management systems and integration.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in social media spaneting, utilizing platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, X and YouTube.

  • Paid digital spaneting experience with ability to compile and interpret data using Google Analytics.

  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Aerospace industry experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Standard office environment

  • Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail.

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE.

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust, or fumes.

  • Standing: 10 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Sitting: 90 *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

  • Lifting (in pounds): up to 10 pounds

  • Pushing (in pounds): up to 10 pounds

  • Mental/Visual: use of computer, calculator, filing cabinets.

Top Benefits:

Salary range: $76,600.00 to $96,300.00. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
