Job Summary
The Operations Control Center Specialist reports directly to the Operations Control Center Manager and is responsible for all aspects of the Operation Control Center functions.
The maintenance of a satisfactory quantity and quality of work safety, apportioning and scheduling assigned work, observing and analyzing the methods used and the results achieved, bring problems to the attention of the Operations Control Center Manager and assist management in the utilization of tools, equipment and materials. The OCC Specialist will have a crucial supporting role in all aspects of import/export cargo matters and facility operations.
Responsibilities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Minimum typing speed of 30 WMP and the ability to learn PC skills and apply knowledge
- Address and adapt to on job situations that require immediate resolution
- Monitor and respond to facility security systems
- Review routine reports, dashboards, systems, and correspondence, assist/finalize improvement analysis reports before submitting to OCC Manager
- Enforce company’s Standard Operating Procedures and policies
- Assure proper compliance with local and international laws and regulations
- Perform hands on training to improve efficiency/effectiveness for all import/export cargo functions
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 2 years experience in air cargo handling
- HS Diploma, GED or Equivalent
- Independent judgment and decision-making skills required
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Port Authority ID
Preferred Skills
- Previous lead experience helpful
- Knowledge of company operations
- Ability to read, write, fluently speak and understand the English language
- Knowledge of Worldwide Flight Services Rules and Regulations
- Proficiency in office suite, ACE, CDMP software
