Purpose of Position

The Operations Support and Compliance Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Standards (DOS) and Program Managers (PMs) at the Center in the administration of the CFR 14 Part 61/121/135/142, EASA, other NAA and FAA Order 8900.1 requirements by performing the following duties.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Maintain a library of Part 121/135 Certificate holder approved programs, manuals and documents or an electronic equivalent required to conduct training, testing, and checking of these carriers.

  • Ensure accuracy and currency of required documentation.

  • Develop and maintain systems required to maintain current Instructor / Check Airmen / TCE Records of Training; and status of all required manuals, checklists, and other Certificate holder documents.

  • Maintain Instructor Training documentation and the computerized instructor record keeping system to comply with FM regulatory requirements, Part 142, and FlightSafetys policies. 

  • Utilizing the computerized record keeping system, compile data and prepare reports for the Director of Pilot Training (DOT), Director of Pilot Standards (DOS), Program Managers (PMs), and Customer Support Manager.

  • Conduct internal audits of training records to ensure conformance with the Quality Manual, ISO 9001 2000 and compliance with applicable FM regulations, JM requirements, and FSI mandated training.

  • Provide information to Program Managers and instructors, as necessary, regarding JM requirements and specific requirements in Part 121 /135/142 Training Programs, Operations Manuals, and Operations Specifications.

  • Coordinate with the DOS on instructor training, qualification, and currency.

  • Assist the DOS, DOT, and Program Managers in drafting training programs and revisions to approved training programs to comply with FAR Parts 121, 135, and 142.

  • Assist the DOS in ensuring compliance pertaining to FM regulations parts 61, 91, 121, 135, 142, and the FlightSafety Operations Manuals.

  • Establish and maintain good public relations and a close working relationship with the Directors of Flight Operations and/or Chief Pilots of FlightSafetys Customers.

  • Communicate with the Compliance functional group, the JM Head of Training and other Learning Center staff members regarding CFR 121/135 Certificate holder manuals and documents, and other course documents.

  • Assist the DOS in identifying and ensuring compliance with FM Regulations, Inspector Handbooks, and JM requirements.

  • Assist the DOS, DOT, and Program Managers in scheduling necessary checks and evaluations required for instructor currency/certification in accordance with all applicable regulations and FlightSafetys policies.

  • Maintain FlightSafetys commitment to customer satisfaction while performing job duties.

  • Accountable for the security of FSI materials, projects and business information regarding the methods and techniques used in the production and usage of FSI products.

  • Report, on a timely basis, any safety hazards observed in work area, equipment, and/or building to appropriate person(s) for correction.

  • Participate in the Quality Management System (QMS) activities at assigned site and adhere to the processes related to accomplishing the sites QMS goals.

  • Support FlightSafetys, and its subsidiaries, commitment to ethical behavior by basing our priorities on lawful and ethical conduct as we deal with co­workers, customers, vendors and others in all of our operations. (See Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002)

  • Prepare correspondence as directed by the DOS. 

  • Prioritize work on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. 

  • Travel, as required.


Job Requirements:
Minimum Education
  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school preferred, or three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; equivalency years experience substitution must be in related field.
Minimum Experience
  • Possess a minimum of one (1) year's experience in an aviation related field.
  • Knowledge of FAR Parts 61, 91, 121, 135, 141, 142, 121 Appendix E and F, FlightSafety Operations Manual, and FAA Order 8900.1 . Thorough knowledge and understanding of all applicable FAA, EASA, TC and other NAA regulations. 
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Fluency in English, through both verbal and written communications; able to speak, understand, read and write; a second language is a plus.
  • IBM PC and/or compatible computer with printer
  • Various peripheral computer equipment: Modem, ZIP Drive, external hard drives, etc.
  • Various office equipment: FAX, Copier, and Multi-line Telephone
Physical Demands and Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee may be required to stand; walk; sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions and is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes of airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
