Purpose of the position

The role of a Pricer offers a unique professional opportunity within the Commercial Offer department, including cross-location responsibilities, travel activities and an international working environment with colleagues from all over the world.

A Pricing Analyst has the responsibility to build pricing strategies based on report analysis, market review and competition. You are the one taking strategic pricing decisions relating to fare increases and/or decreases. Together with the Revenue Analysts, the Pricing Analyst shall maximize the revenue, protect and increase market shares and watch competitiveness of fares against the benchmark carriers.

Next to being responsible for improvements of your pricing strategies and business processes, a Pricing Analyst also has a unique opportunity to work in various intra- and cross-departmental projects.

Key Tasks

In this key role, you are responsible for the revenues generated in the intercontinental markets for all Lufthansa Group Hub Airlines. As part of our dynamic team, you maximize revenues by taking into account willingness-to-pay of a customer segment – meaning: offering the right price at the right point in time to the right passenger.

Key tasks include:

  • Development of pricing strategies and origin & destination availability steering for your market portfolio for the Lufthansa Group Airlines
  • Identification of the different customer segments, estimation of price elasticity and consequently pricing the offer and steering the availability
  • Continuous monitoring and analysis of market and revenue trends and proactive initiation of corrective measures
  • Collection of feedback and market intelligence from the stations, field sales and marketing on market fares and competitive pricing initiatives
  • Building an action plan based on analyses and interpretation of reports to stay up-to-date with market developments, competition and possible threats and opportunities
  • Active participation in markets meetings to gain and share knowledge and plan future improvements to the pricing strategy
  • Initiation and implementation of internal and cross-divisional projects
  • Development of revenue management methods, tools, processes and price concepts aiming for revenue maximization
  • Elaboration of analyses and presentations for management decisions

The Lufthansa Group Revenue Management (Commercial Offer) team is responsible for the entire revenue of the Lufthansa Group Airlines. Modern methods and processes are drivers of business development and innovating the airline revenue management field.

Your Profile

  • Degree in business, economics or comparable fields of study
  • 1-3 years professional experience in a commercial environment is an advantage
  • Self-organized work attitude, excellent time management skills and team player
  • Very high analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High degree of flexibility, organizational talent, entrepreneurial and conceptual thinking, precise presentation of complex issues
  • Proven IT literacy (esp. MS Excel & Power Point), data analytics would be an asset
  • Project Management experience is an advantage
  • Fluent in English – Dutch and/or French being asset
