Role Introduction
Focus on leveraging data to drive business initiatives and growth for cargo. Actively and regularly work on rate benchspaning activity, pricing of each OD lane, pricing of special products, management of data & analysis and digital roadmap. The main aim is to maximize revenue, meet targets and commercial KPI’s for the region.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Focus & Liaison
- Work closely with Head office teams - Market Development, Revenue Management and local sales teams. Will be responsible to design/create assigned port’s strategies and pricing rates sheets.
- Manage the data for the assigned ports to strongly support the commercial strategy.
- Regular focus on Region’s CBP KPI’s and should be able to identify opportunities through available data for assigned ports.
- Consistently support sales teams in identifying new spanets, routes, forwarders and business opportunities.
- Regularly engage and review the assigned port’s performance and make corrective pricing adjustments as required to ensure achievement of all targets and maximize revenue.
- Develop a strong model for Rate Sheets, work with sales to build a structure with regular rate reviews while also monitoring Adhoc for assigned ports.
- Help to execute the regional Cargo Business Plan at port level and proactively track revenue commitments
- Undertake ad-hoc projects and analysis when required with timelines.
- Regularly update Regional Head of Cargo Pricing and Analytics and Asst Manager Cargo Pricing and Analytics about the assigned ports progress and any new opportunity and development that can be executed on port level.
Digitization &Automation
- Actively work with assigned ports to ensure complete understanding and effective implementation of the set Digital roadmap.
- Effective usage of available dashboards and tools. When required, suggest customization of dashboards to HO based on region’s requirement for effective and efficient handling of data.
Analytics & Sales
- Use, Promote and Assist with usage of data tools to promote in‐depth data Analysis and identify opportunities to grow Top & Secondary OD’s.
- Be completely cognizant of the competition landscape and CX product.
- Formulate pricing and pricing strategies for the assigned ports based on complete spanet understanding and ensuring the rates are relevant always.
- Analytical champion to be able to read data from different dashboards and suggest revenue optimizing strategies.
- Effectively connect network / regional / local spanet intelligence with pricing decisions.
- Progressively identify and implement any potential tonnage & yield improving opportunities.
- Identify business opportunities with Key Global & Top Accounts for revenue
- To be able to review and identify the opportunities related to Special Product and guide sales teams through data.
- Assist with requests for pricing for Global and Key Accounts. Leveraging the global accounts and ensuring the productivity is in line with global targets.
General
- Serve as the bridge between Head Office Departments and Regional / Country teams to ensure timely exchange of spanet intelligence and network opportunities on port level.
- Actively support Marketing & PR teams’ in sharing accurate data to be used in a timely manner.
- Any other reasonable task as requested from time to time.
E&A
- Emergency and Accident and Crisis Response responsibilities as required.
Requirements
Academic Qualifications
- University degree (or tertiary equivalent) preferably in a logistics, sales and spaneting or business discipline
Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience
- At least 3 years’ experience in a business development and/or analytical type role
- with preferably cargo and airline industry experience.
- Demonstrably strong knowledge in air cargo sales.
- Good understanding of network revenue optimization and Origin / Destination concept
- Strong analytical, negotiation, communication and presentation skills.
- Sound knowledge of tools.
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office with focus on Excel and Database
