Job Summary

The Specialist, Regulatory Projects plays a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and requirements within Spirit Airlines. This role focuses on Airworthiness Directive (AD) program and Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) to maintain the airworthiness and safety of the airlines fleet. The Specialist serves as a key liaison to regulatory agencies, conduct investigations, coordinate audits, and provide expertise to internal stakeholders to ensure adherence to regulatory standards.

  • Audits and reviews Airworthiness Directive (AD) to ensure compliance with FAA regulations.
  • Maintains comprehensive documentation and controls of all ADs specific to aircraft types and sub-systems.
  • Monitors electronic records for Airworthiness Directives Engineering Orders (EOs) in SETS.
  • Coordinates with Spirit’s Engineering Departments to evaluate related AD’s and ensure compliance.
  • Analyzes requirements and requests Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOC) to Airworthiness Directives as needed.
  • Assists with investigations and interviews for Maintenance Events, creating Corrective Action Responses (CARs) as necessary.
  • Conducts audits of internal processes and programs to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Reviews and updates Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborates with departments to conduct Data Collection Tools (DCTs).
  • Develops proactive strategies to anticipate regulatory changes and mitigate compliance risks.
  • Develops and maintains a comprehensive training program on regulatory compliance for relevant stakeholders.
  • Conducts regular reviews of compliance documentation and processes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Aviation, Engineering or Business Management.

Experience
3-5 years’ experience in Aviation, Engineering or Business Management.

Additional Certifications

  • Prior Technical Support (Engineering) experience preferred.
  • Effective time management techniques are essential to prioritize workflow and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); ability to build relationships and influence cross-functionally.
  • Computer skills are essential (MS Office Suite).

Specialized Skills

  • Project Management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of TRAX operating software preferred.
  • Knowledge of Power BI and other Data Based Management tools.
