Role Summary
The Senior Experimentation Specialist is a subject matter expert in digital experiments at Alaska Airlines and Horizon Air. As an individual contributor, this role exercises considerable judgment to make decisions in the design and execution of digital experiments and makes recommendations to improve Alaskas merchandising strategy and product design.
Key Duties
Acts as a subject matter expert in experimentation across the company.
With minimal direction from leadership, exercises considerable judgement to develop solutions to complex problems, including designing studies to have clear definitions of success, and flawless executions to ensure high quality data.
Employs deep knowledge of all Alaska revenue products and merchandising strategies to make recommendations to improve Alaskas product merchandising and design.
Skillfully curate & deliver comprehensive training content to stakeholders, including internal learning, to help enable experimentation processes into standard best practices.
Develops and participates in regular rhythm of business reporting and business review meetings to help track the performance of our program with commercial stakeholders up to the executive leadership level.
Helps monitor industry trends and advancements in digital experimentation and analytics, and applies cutting-edge experimentation methods found within Alaska and across the eComm industry in tests across all digital platforms.
Works with teams to scale experiments, scope requirements, and resolve blockers.
Utilizes strong technological skills, including use of testing tools (Optimizely), computer languages (CSS, HTML, python), querying tools (SQL), data manipulation tools (Alteryx, Excel) and presentation tools (Tableau, PowerPoint) to conduct experiments, research and analysis.
Makes frequent recommendations to improve the experimentation program and mentors experimentation specialists.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills
Required
4 years of experience in AB testing, computer science, analytics, quantitative sciences or related area.
Bachelors degree with a focus in UX design, psychology, mathematics, statistics or related discipline, or an additional 2 years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and databases and large datasets (Databricks, SQL, python, Alteryx).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum age of 18.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred
Experience in the airline industry.
Intermediate skills in presenting data-driven strategic insights, including use of visualization tools (Tableau).
Advanced working knowledge of experimentation design, implementation, and tools (AB, MVT, Multi-Armed Bandit; CSS, HTML; Optimizely).
Ability to establish cross-functional, collaborative relationships with other teams, valuing diversity and inclusivity.
Detail oriented and highly organized, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Data-driven mindset and a proven history of continuous self-development.
Proven track record of applying insights to business strategy.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company.

Salary Range
$112,000 - $168,000 / year
Salary Details
Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.
Note: We don’t typically hire at the top of the range.
