Job Summary
The System Administrator II position is part of the Cirrus Information Technology team reporting directly to Director, Infrastructure & Operations. The focus of this role is to work with the infrastructure team to create a stable, flexible, reliable and secure infrastructure environment that adds value to the company and provides a foundation for strategic initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Monitors server, storage, backup datacenter and associated software health, responds to alerts generated by the network performance monitor to ensure system connectivity of all servers, shared software, groupware, and other applications.
- Perform regular maintenance on all servers, storage and backup systems. This includes but is not limited to system back-ups, virus protection, bios upgrades, software patches and performance tuning.
- Keeps a detailed account of all installs, repairs, fixes and upgrades in the Change Management database. Works with business and IT to define business outcomes from leveraging technology and measures, tracks and reports on benefits realization and customer satisfaction levels
- Collaborate with the information technology team to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Provides 2nd level (and sometimes 1st level) support for the servers, systems, services, applications when issues are identified. Resolve these issues and communicate status/completion to all stakeholders.

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, Remote Desktop, Powershell, Microsoft Server Operating systems required.
- Working knowledge of cloud platforms, like AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- Working knowledge of server virtualization environments required. Working knowledge of VMware is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Information Security best practices is preferred.
- Experience/Knowledge with route, switch, wireless, and firewalling is preferred.
- Experience/Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 backend services including Exchange and Azure AD preferred.
- Experience/Knowledge of other Microsoft server products like SQL Server, Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) is not mandatory but is a plus.
Education and/or Experience:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, information systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of IT and business work experience with a range of exposure to System Administrator related duties preferred.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate, Cisco Certified Network Associate, CompTIA Server+, Network+, Security+ or similar certifications preferred.
