Lockheed Martin Space seeks a System Administrator for its Sunnyvale, CA location to join our team for Echelon 2 (E2) sustainment of a signal distribution system. The operational system utilizes a variety of systems, including bare-metal servers, VMs, On-prem Kubernetes hosting services, and cloud-hosted services. Along with sustainment, we continue the active development of new capabilities and recaps of existing systems and are looking for candidates who can support the design and development of our future systems.

• Supports Software development teams by building and maintaining development environments and workstations
• Support troubleshooting of both development and operational systems to fault-isolate issues and collaborate with software and network team to develop solutions
• Responsible for all server hardware and operating systems across both physical and virtual systems including the cloud. Maintains operational systems including patching, security hardening, PKI infrastructure, and build/deployment of new servers for upgrades and recaps.


This is a level 2, early career role where successful Applicants will:
Typically possess a minimum of 2 years of professional experience having received a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college/university in a related discipline, or additional experience/combined education in lieu of degree.

Successful candidates must have an active Top Secret security clearance and be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with Poly, experience with troubleshooting and researching server failures and anomalies, and have a current CompTIA Security+ or (ISC)2 CISSP.

• Current CompTIA Security+ or (ISC)2 CISSP

• Current experience with Linux (any distribution, Red Hat preferred)
• Bash shell scripting
• Ansible experience
• Prior programming experience
• Amazon AWS or other cloud compute provider
• VMWare vCenter/ESXi or other hypervisor
experience
• Familiarity with containers (Docker and/or Containerd)
• Kubernetes
• Red Hat Satellite
• Free IPA and/or LDAP and/or MS Active Directory
• Basic networking
• Storage experience, including disk/tape backup
• Server hardening
• CompTIA Linux+ / Linux Professional Institute LPIC-1 or equivalent
• Ability and willingness to learn and accept mentoring

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, or Washington is $67,400 - $129,300 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidates work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
Pay Rate:
The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California and New York is $77,600 - $146,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.
