Job Description

Technical Publications Specialist is responsible for managing company manuals and publications, ensuring and compliance, creating and editing documents, and collaborating with various departments. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

 Summary of Essential Duties

  • Maintain and update the master file of all Company manuals, forms, and documents in the Company Manual System.
  • Manage the currency, control, distribution, and tracking of Company manuals and publications.
  • Assist the manual owners with creating draft documents and coordinating revisions.
  • Create, format, and edit various company forms as necessary.
  • Track and record revision transmittal documents from assigned manual holders.
  • Issue and distribute bulletins to company manuals as required.
  • Update and distribute manuals/documents to the web, mobile devices, synced servers, and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB).
  • Review the impact of procedural changes to the manual content and amend the procedure(s) and/or process(es) as deemed necessary.
  • Upon receipt of a revision or new (original) manual, ensure the revision has been accepted and/or approved, as applicable.
  • Partner with other Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), IT, and stakeholders in various departments on cross-functional projects.
  • Provide end-user support for manuals on the web and mobile devices.
  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.
Job Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Be at least 23 years of age.
  • Must have a valid driver license and good driving record.
  • Be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel in and out of the United States.
  • Able to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Must have experience and be highly proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, Word, Outlook, and related software.
  • Able to pass a required 10-year work history review and submit to criminal history records check.
  • Must understand, read, and write English.
  • Possess polished and professional interpersonal skills with a positive attitude and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Possess strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Must have well-developed people skills and the ability to work with a variety of personalities.
  • Able to coordinate multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Maintain strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including OSHA, EPA, state, and federal regulations.
  • 2 years of experience working in a publications environment or writing technical process of electronic documents.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Technical writing experience, preferably within a regulated industry.
  • Experience working in an aviation regulatory environment, with a strong understanding of FAA Part 121 and/or Part 135 operations.
  • Familiarity with creating and managing regulatory documentation.
  • Experience in project management or coordinating cross-functional projects involving Leadership and regulatory stakeholders.
