Responsibilities:Manage the Letter of Credit (LC) program. Responsibilities include:Negotiating the contractual terms related to the credit facilities annuallyManage the issuance and expiries of all LC’s issued by the company globally, including negotiating terms of the LC agreementManage LC’s issued to Air Canada through the General Sales Agents (GSA’s) program including investigating outstanding LC’s, managing drawdowns and cancellations and monitoring the outstanding account receivables pertaining to the GSA sales programEvaluate and manage the General Sales Agent (GSA) credit exposure, ensuring the Corporation is adequately protected through collateral deposits or Letters of Credit with its GSA’s globally Take appropriate action when repatriation issues arise related to the GSA including informing senior Management Ensure all offshore LC’s issued to Air Canada meet the terms ascribed in the GSA manualLiaise with AC Management and AC Audits
Prepare wire payments for management approval through the Treasury Management System and/or stand-alone financial institution online websites. Perform the initial review of the Air Canada and Air Canada rouge LP’s bank account reconciliations.Manage the Aeroplan and Aeroplan Travel services monthly accounting entries.Assist with month-end and quarter-end Treasury related support.Reconcile investment and investment interest accounts monthly.Provide support to Air Canada’s Foreign Exchange and Fuel Hedging programs, manage Margin Call requests from various Financial Institutions.Provide support to both internal and external auditors related to Treasury activities including hedging contracts, foreign exchange contracts, journal entries and cash management as requested.
QualificationsCompleted High school education. Post secondary education is an asset.Treasury related experience is an assetHigh level of PC skills, proficiency in PeopleSoft, and FIS Quantum an assetExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsIntermediate accounting skills, CPA or equivalent an assetSelf-starter with the ability to operate under minimum supervisionAbility to cope with irregular or multiple work demands
