PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Warranty Claims Oversight
- Oversee the warranty programs claim process (customer and vendor facing)
- Identify process improvements
- Develop procedures and work instructions
Cost Recovery Strategy and Execution
- Create and implement strategies to maximize cost recovery from suppliers or other third parties
- Identify warranty-related cost recovery opportunities and help train warranty and material administrators on how to secure reimbursements
- Work closely with the Material group to help them ensure vendors accountability for warranty-related costs due to parts defects or quality issues
- Implement process feedback loops with quality assurance and engineering teams to address parts issues that contribute to warranty claims
- Build and maintain a strong relationship with all stakeholders, focusing on collaborative improvement efforts
- Partner with customer service teams to ensure a positive customer experience and smooth claim process
Data Analysis and Reporting
- Analyze warranty claims data to identify trends, root causes and recurring parts issues
- Set up detailed reports and dashboards for senior leadership, highlighting claims performance, recovery rates and opportunities for cost reduction
- Work closely with cross functional stakeholders (Material, Spares Warranty and Finance groups) to forecast warranty related expenses and mitigate risks
Training and Development
- Compile training materials and provide appropriate training and support to cross-functional teams on warranty policies, cost recovery practices and tools.
- Assist Business Development team with AI-assisted claim adjudication projects
NON-PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Provide general administrative support to the warranty team as needed, for example updating databases
Market research on claim administration best practices
Participate in special projects or cross-functional initiatives
Back-up support for other team members within department during absences
Provide assistance with internal audits
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain Management or related field
Five years of experience in warranty management, cost recovery, supply chain or related field
Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
Proven analytical abilities and experience with data-driven decision making
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with SAP
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well with others with little direct supervision
ADDITIONAL DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Masters Degree
Previous experience in aerospace industry
Knowledge of process improvement methodologies
Familiarity with warranty-related legal and regulatory requirements
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office environment
Some travel may be required
Use of personnel computer is required
