The Avionics Manager is responsible for supervising and coordinating all avionics related activities to ensure the highest standards of safety and efficiency are consistently achieved.
* Become main point of contact for modifications regarding technical questions and concerns.
* Provide expert level of advice and troubleshooting to team members and engineering for all aspects of avionics and electrical systems on multiple aircraft platforms, commercial, military and business/ corporate.
* Perform function test of newly installed avionics equipment as well as existing equipment to evaluate for troubleshooting purposes.
* Manages all aspects of multiple avionics integration and certification projects/programs through the project/program life cycle, including the development of project plans/schedules, budgets, resource utilization and delivery of outcomes.
* Performs over sight of maintenance of aircraft avionics components and electrical systems components, such as, airborne navigation/communication systems, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems, and accessories in accordance with MFG specifications and FAA guidelines.
* Test and inspect aircraft communications components, navigation components, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems, and accessories to MFG specifications. Troubleshoot to determine malfunctions on aircraft avionics components and electrical systems components, such as, airborne navigation/communication systems, weather radar, autopilot, compass systems, and accessories.
* Ensure completion of all checklists, forms and reports as required in accordance with the company, government, and FAA regulations and guidelines.
* Holds regular cross-functional project/program meetings to review and update our maintenance team regarding project status, logistics, resources, schedules and objectives. Ensures early risk identification and implementation of mitigation measures or corrective actions.
* Supports the development of technical proposals and quotes for new avionics integration and certification opportunities.
* Provides timely reports to managers to ensure an understanding of project/program status and performance. Prepares interim and completion project/program reports.
* Collaborate internally to gather and obtain necessary information, working with management and cost tracking personnel.
* Maintain industry knowledge and familiarity with existing and next generation avionics products and systems.
* Works closely with Department Manager and Team Leaders to develop, coordinate, standardize and implement new and existing procedures that promote continuous improvements in efficiency and quality.
* Work with Director of Maintenance and other Manager-level employees to ensure on time scheduling and timelines are being kept.Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements:
*Must have 5 years experience BBJ ( Boeing Business Jet ) experience.
* Degree or certificate from an accredited two (2) year college, university or technical school in avionics maintenance or electronics required or equivalent experience.
* Demonstrate thorough understanding of technical data such as OEM Service Bulletins and STC, seek out other approval methods to properly install equipment per the latest FAA requirements
* Knowledge of Avionics Systems

* FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A P) License. Previous experience in Part 145 operations
