Apex Aviation is currently hiring for an Experienced Avionics Technician with General Aviation/Part 145 experience.

Role and Responsibilities 

Seeking Experienced Avionics Technician with greater than 3 years’ experience in troubleshooting, repair, and installations of avionics equipment on Part 91 and Part 135 airframes. Must have a working knowledge of test equipment (IFR-4000, IFR-6000, Air Data Test Set, etc.), and procedures associated with General Aviation avionics on different platforms - Garmin, Bendix/King, Honeywell, L3, Collins, etc., as installed on different airframes. This is a fast-paced work environment that performs repairs and installations on Small Experimental, Light Sport, Piston, Helicopter, Turboprop, Very Light Jet, and Commuter Class aircraft, with little supervision. Technician must require minimal training to be considered. Knowledge of FAA Regulatory paperwork is a plus.

The ideal candidate should have a thorough understanding of electrical schematics, avionics systems architecture, maintenance manuals, and be capable of following aviation maintenance best practices. The candidate must also have experience and understand the rules & regulations of an FAA Part 145 maintenance environment. This position requires exceptional customer service attitude, teamwork skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well with other service departments.

Job Requirements:
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to qualify for an FAA Repairman Certificate per FAA 14 CFR 65.
  • Minimum of 3 years of General Aviation and/or Corporate Avionics and Instrument Installations working in the Part 145 Repair Station environment.
  • Minimum of 3 year of experience with Garmin systems (or others) and a working knowledge of GPS/Nav/Com, Audio, Autopilots, EFIS/PFD/MFD/Displays, ELT, Instruments/Gyros, Radar, Datalink/Weather, Traffic, Terrain systems, etc.
  • Experience with Altitude Reporting Systems, RVSM checks, Pitot/static and transponder system testing.
  • Ability to use and operate software programs (such as Corridor) for maintenance tracking and documentation. Computer skills are a requirement.
  • Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.

The following are preferred qualifications:

  • Previous FAA Repairman Certificate holder.
  • Previous avionics installation, troubleshooting, programming, and repair experience on various makes and models of airframes/avionics systems.
  • Familiarity with Aviation test equipment and operation.
  • A variety of hand-tools to facilitate general maintenance. Calibrated tooling and specialized test equipment will be provided by the company.

Additional Notes

  • 8-Hour shift - Subject to change, depending on needs overtime may be required.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Ability to commute/relocate to Henderson, NV 89052; must be able to reliably commute, or plan to relocate before starting work (Required).
  • Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour depending on experience level.
Salary Range: 28.00-35.00
